Before launching this platform, we built Proper Media into one of the largest ad management companies in the industry. Managing over $150M in annual programmatic revenue for more than 100 websites by the time we were acquired by a major SSP. Our publishers included some of the most premium websites in the world.
Our team has also acquired, operated, and turned around some of the internet's most iconic brands (Snopes, TvTropes, and Salon). Completely overhauling them from a tech, operational, and management standpoint. Multiple times taking them from the brink of bankruptcy to significant profitability in relatively short order. We've been in the weeds handling the countless details that create real enterprise value for large websites.
Publishers are burnt out from the constant stream of pitches from monetization platforms. We get it. Nearly every company in this space claims to boost revenue, streamline operations, and offer the best technology. In reality, everyone is building almost the exact same thing. Every platform is built on prebid, has a config UI, analytics of varying quality, and some features like dynamic flooring and traffic shaping that are not as complex as they may seem.
Publishers already lose a huge chunk of each ad dollar to the supply chain. It is no longer a sustainable model for publishers to pay the current SaaS fees or Rev Shares to existing platforms. That is what we have set out to change. We've leveraged the newest technology to build a platform that includes everything a publisher needs to operate at a cost that is significantly lower than anything on the market or what it would cost to build internally.
